Mr. Gao Shangquan (1929-2021), Chairman of the Summit Forum of Top 100 Listed Companies in China, Honorary President of the China Society for Economic System Reform. Mr. Gao served as Deputy Director and member of the Party Group of the former National Economic System Reform Commission, member of the Preliminary Working Committee and Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and head of the Economic Subgroup, President of the China Society for Economic System Reform, President of the China Society for Enterprise Reform and Development, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the China Foundation for Reform and Development, member of the Committee for Development Policy of the United Nations and senior advisor of the World Bank, and member of the Eighth and the Ninth National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Mr. Gao Shangquan has long been engaged in the reform of the economic system and the study of macroeconomic theories, policy guidelines and programs, as well as the study of sectoral economic policies, with a particular focus on the reform and development of the economic system and the market economy, etc. He is one of the major economists and leaders in the study and implementation of the reform of the economic system in China, has witnessed and participated in the reform and development of the economic system in China since the reform and opening up, and has experienced the major decision-making process related to the reform of the economic system in China. Mr. Gao has witnessed and participated in the reform and development of China's economic system since the reform and opening up, experienced the major decision-making process related to the reform of China's economic system, and done a great deal of work to promote the establishment and improvement of the socialist market economy.
